I believe that with total sincerity from all , a unity formula which will unite all DAP Perak leaders, branches and members can be soon worked out
Yesterday morning, I have through my blog expressed my thanks to all inside and outside the DAP for their expression of sympathy, solidarity and support for me over the recent Perak crisis.
It shocked me to learn that yesterday afternoon there was a demonstration by some people at Perak DAP office, calling on me to quit DAP and denouncing Sdr Ngeh Koo Ham and Sdr Nga Kor Ming as well as the DAP.
I would like to appeal to all who sincerely support the DAP , irrespective of whether they are DAP members or not, not to aggravate matters by holding anti Ngeh /anti DAP demonstration.
Before my departure to overseas, I have agreed with Party Secretary General Lim Guan Eng to cease talking to the media over the problems which caused the crisis.
Subsequently, while delivering his speech at the DAP Khantan Jaya dinner on October 3, Sdr Ngeh has publicly and humbly apologized over his less than perfect handling of the party problems, as well as assuring that our differences could be resolved internally.
I therefore appeal to all not to bear any hatred against Sdr Ngeh and his cousin, Nga or hurl unfair accusations against them.
Neither must anyone make unfounded, baseless, malicious allegations against the DAP.
Let me once again reiterate that despite the problems and pains which I have had to endure for quite sometime before the crisis erupted into the open, I shall remain committed to the DAP and its cause of bringing about a better Malaysia for all Malaysians.
In fact, what has been on my mind most of the time while having this one week break from home is the message from Sdr Lim Kit Siang ---that the Perak DAP must demonstrate leadership which will win public confidence and support.
I believe that with total sincerity from all , a unity formula which will unite all DAP Perak leaders, branches and members can be soon worked out.
In fact, for a better Malaysia, the formula must be worked out.
I did not apologise 4 or 5 times over the Perak crisis.
I have been told that there are newspaper reports in today’s Chinese dailies saying that I have apologised a few times over the Perak crisis.
Chianpress said I apologised 4 times in yesterday’s tweeter while Sin Chew Jit Poh said I apologised 5 times , 4 times in tweeter and once in my blog.
The truth is that I have only apologized once through my blog yesterday over the fact that the Perak family crisis has become a public issue.
I do understand that going public can affect the Party’s image to some extent and accept the disappointment expressed by some DAP leaders, members and supporters.
But I stand by what I have openly said against Sdr Ngeh as I have spoken nothing but the truth.
I am not however responsible for the adverse comment against Sdr Ngeh and his cousin Sdr Nga Kor Ming in the various media articles and commentaries.
Let me clarify about the so called repeated apologies in my tweeter.
My tweets were merely reproduction of media reports about my apology, which were The Malaysian Insider, Malaysiakini, The Star and New Straits Times.
So it is not true that I have apologised again and again.
If the reporters do not understand tweeter and have made genuine error of reporting that I have repeatedly apologized, then I hope this clarification will correct the error.
I certainly hope that there is no hidden agenda in the erroneous reports
